High Dollar calls
I have been debating purchasing a Rich in Tone Timber acrylic call. I have a few misc. calls such as two cheaper RNTs and couple primos calls. Are the more expensive calls really worth the money. Do they sound that much better?

RE: High Dollar calls
Not sure what kind of call your talking Duck ,Goose, ect.) But if it is a Duck call for mallards , If you can find one,(there not made anymore) the QuakerBoy Arcrilic Pro Hunters Series (Green) single reed ,Quack master duck call. This call should run around the 35.00 US , 45.00 Canadian. This call has a great tone , and easy to use, and not to far out of the world for price. The higher price calls above 100.00 do sound good , but to the average hunter they don't nned them...BT

I know this is sacreligios but... My feeding call attempts are something to cry over.. I just picked up one of the shaker calls, and I was very impressed with it.
It may not be perfect but it sounds alot more like a feeding mallard than I do

the only reason i bought my $95 Tru Tone call was motivation. I figured if i spent that much money, id stick with it. It worked. I could have learned with a cheaper one probably, but i love my tru tone now.

RE: High Dollar calls
Two years ago, I went to the Cabela's store in Dundee, MI. I was ready to spend what ever it took to but a call that would help me get better. I spoke with one of the "specialists" there and received the following advice...
"If you want to spend $100 to impress your hunting buddies, by all means, choose the higher dollar call. If you want to improve your calling, choose a call youy are comfortable with, then practice, practice, practice, practice."
This is the best advice I have had yet on calling. My 2 cents worth includes going to a place where you can hear the ducks during the off season and do the best you can to mimmick them. Good luck.
