High Dollar calls

I have been debating purchasing a Rich in Tone Timber acrylic call. I have a few misc. calls such as two cheaper RNTs and couple primos calls. Are the more expensive calls really worth the money. Do they sound that much better?

Nope!!You don't need to spend big bucks to get a good call.I just purchased a Winglock double reed for $45 and it's without a doubt the best duck call I've ever heard[8D]

Not sure what kind of call your talking Duck ,Goose, ect.) But if it is a Duck call for mallards , If you can find one,(there not made anymore) the QuakerBoy Arcrilic Pro Hunters Series (Green) single reed ,Quack master duck call. This call should run around the 35.00 US , 45.00 Canadian. This call has a great tone , and easy to use, and not to far out of the world for price. The higher price calls above 100.00 do sound good , but to the average hunter they don't nned them...BT

No, the high dollar calls are a waste of money. Fet you a Haydels Redleg or a Dr-85 and that is all you need.

Thanks guys. And yes I was refering to mallard calls. Used to have a redleg by Haydels and gave it to a buddy that was able to do more hunting than I but now I miss it. Maybe need to get another. Also the RNTs I do have I love.

I know this is sacreligios but... My feeding call attempts are something to cry over.. I just picked up one of the shaker calls, and I was very impressed with it.
It may not be perfect but it sounds alot more like a feeding mallard than I do

I worked for a ranch that was on an island in the middle of the Columbia river. we had a duck and goose club that was high $$ what I could tell was the guys that could call good could call with any call. Learn when not to blow it!

the only reason i bought my $95 Tru Tone call was motivation. I figured if i spent that much money, id stick with it. It worked. I could have learned with a cheaper one probably, but i love my tru tone now.

Two years ago, I went to the Cabela's store in Dundee, MI. I was ready to spend what ever it took to but a call that would help me get better. I spoke with one of the "specialists" there and received the following advice...

"If you want to spend $100 to impress your hunting buddies, by all means, choose the higher dollar call. If you want to improve your calling, choose a call youy are comfortable with, then practice, practice, practice, practice."

This is the best advice I have had yet on calling. My 2 cents worth includes going to a place where you can hear the ducks during the off season and do the best you can to mimmick them. Good luck.
