Steel shot
Let me start off by saying that this is my first season to duck hunt, and I don't know a great deal about it. My question pertains to this...I have an older model Remington 1100 12-gauge shotgun that is pretty old. By old, I mean at least 17+ years old. In order to change the choke on the shotgun, I have to change out the barrels. Is it o.k. to shoot steel shot from this gun, or do I need a special barrel that is designed to handle steel shot? Thanks.

RE: Steel shot
I have been told that the steel wares on the old bore barrels. I personally would not use it! I hunted with 1100 back in the days of lead...Lead is softer and less damaging to the steel bore barrels. Call remington...ask them...Im sure that someone there could help you...ask the gun smith in your area.
