Unless you want to send a lot of cash, I' d go with the Rem 870 Express chambered for 3" rounds. You can' t go wrong with this gun. It' ll knock em down as good as anything.
I like the matte finish but that' s just personal preference.
A good 870 will run you slightly over 200.00

I bought me a new Baikal mp153 auto for this season. I only gave $330 tax and all.
Gonna see how it performs in the morning..........
Don' t know how I ended up with 2 of the same posts, can' t figure out how to delete one, so I guess they both stay.

My 870 Express Magnum (3" chamber) has proven a solid performer on everything from skeet to whitetail deer... even doubled as a canoe paddle once (unloaded) when I broke the real thing. I have no experience with the 3.5" Super Mag... have never personally seen the need for 3.5" shells in a 12ga.

I personally believe that the *&) Express in 3" is the ideal waterfowl gun, as well. It handles much like a Wingmaster, but at about half the cost. For my upland hunts, it' s all about my CItori or Orion, but when I' m playing in the mud my Express is always my first choice. It' s cheap, immenently dependable and I have no fear of it getting abused in a blind or the canoe.
As far as the 3.5" chambering- learn to call better. I take 80% of my waterfowl using 2.75" #4 shot and have not had a problem. The only time I use 3" is for late season, high wind days.
