Duck gun

RE: Duck gun
I also used to have a 2 3/4, but its simple, bigger shell, more bb' s, better hit chance. I have upgraded to a 12ga. Remington 870 3 inch and i would say to either go with a 870 3 or 3 1/2 inch. The only thing i had experienced problems with in the 3 1/2 is that the longer shells tend to jam a little more often then smaller sizes.

RE: Duck gun
Well I have learned one thing while duck hunting (and any other type of hunting for that fact) asking about which gun would be the best is almost like asking what religion is the best.
My suggestion is go with the gun that feels the best for you. Go to a gun store that stocks a variety of guns, throw them to your shoulder and see what feels good. My first gun was the 870 express, I personally liked it even better than the Benelli Nova which is what I believe is what Dicks is offering. I did however buy the Stoeger M2000 Camo semi that they had because I liked the way it felt and I also got the chance to shoot a freind of mines. A lot of people give me crap because I have bought an off brand gun but I bring down if not the same but more ducks and geese as they do.
Point of this long post----don' t buy a gun just because someone says it' s the greatest, buy a gun that feels right for you. Obviously also check the craftsmanship of the gun. I figured I better say that before I get flamed.

RE: Duck gun
i have an 870 mag and had an A5 , never had a problem with the 870 awesome and very reliable gun can' t go wrong with it, but it all boils down to what feels comfortable to you, after all you' ll be the one shooting it
in my experience the pump has saved my money on shells you think about every shot with the auto you can pop 3 off real fast never setting up any better than the first miss, and when i had to pump and retarget i usually drop em on the second if i missed the first.
