Default swimming decoys

Have any of you tried using the decoys that swim around in your spread? I saw some on ebay for about $30. Do you think thier worth it?

They are OK dead still days, but you have to give them plenty of room or they will get wrapped up with one of your other deeks and do nothing but frustrate you. We didn't use one of the remote ducks, but one of the ones that have a torpedo for a keel. I personally don't want to deal with a remote on top of everything else I take to the swamp.

I'll second that. There is enough junk floating down most of the tidal creeks I hunt in anyway. And having $100 swimming around instead of minding the wind, the other decoys and the birds just sounds like a disaster in the making the way I hunt.

Might be useful if you have a kid that has a short attention span.

i've used a remote controlled swimming deke for 1 season. it's a pita. that was 5 years ago. haven't used it since. although it would be good if you with a little kid.
