Default Swimming Deer

Well today was one great day at work. I am in the Navy and patrol some back creeks that border a base. While we were back in one of these creeks. I will be damned if 8 does jumped in the water and swam across the creek. The water where they went across at was 16-18 ft deep and about 150 yards across. It was so awesome to see this happen. Well Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Because Sadamm will not have a good year.....

Deer are great swimmers. We used to go over to an island on the Susquehanna River to picnic and always seen deer on it.When we came ashore, they just headed to the water and swam back across the river to the main banks. You're right-it is pretty awesome to see.

I've seen deer swim the Cheaster River while goose hunting and have even seen them in the middle of the Cheasapeke Bay while driving across the bridge.

I've seen them swim the Choptank river at a point where it's 3 miles wide. No problem. Their hair is hollow providing both buoancy and insulation.

I saw one swimming in Lake Erie. It was at 2:00pm in June. Must have needed to cool off.
