Our mose producitve hunts this year for puddlers have been in the afternoon,,, and not the last hour of legal time.. From noon until 2-3pm has been absolutely incredible,,, much much better than first or last hours have been!

Evening are always better where i hunt.
Our club borders BK Leach Conservation, MO . There you can only hunt until 100pm. Once all those hunters leave everything quiets down and the ducks are less weary. Plus, you dont have to get up early.

I hunt ducks in the morning and evening. Mornings are typically better although this year ducks in my area were in allot better in numbers and had good results in both. I do change spots from morning to eveningto let the ducks rest in the one spot when I am in the other.

Mornings are by far my favorite, but sometimes schedule dictates an evening hunt.
There are less birds flying around, but there are also a lot less hunters, sometimes none, so you usually have the birds to yourself.
