These past few days have been pretty exciting. I've had 17 mature buck sightings from my stands, 8 different ones. This beats my best season ever and it's still early. One of the main reasons for this is because I've decided to try and hold back for a bigger buck this year. Either a clean 10 (5x5) or something that nets in the 140s. I've passed on three different bucks from 128 to 136. By not shooting the first P&Y buck that came past my stand, I'm out there still seeing them.

Tonight I saw 4 different mature bucks from my stand along with a 4 pt. doe and 2 fawns. That is the most big bucks I've seen during a single hunt. It was the first night that the big boys started showing up. The 4 1/2s and older. I saw the big 8 that I posted a while back and the 10 that rubbed his antlers on my tree. Almost had a crack at the 10. it got a little far in the low light. I can't wait for morning! Here's a pic of the big 8. No hesitation!

Sweet man, All I ask is to have 1 encounter with a mature buck a season, seeing 4 in a night would blow my mind.
