Those 2 look good to me! I leave Wednesday for Maine and a black bear hunt.... I sure hope to have as good of luck as you did.
Any idea what they weighed? Did you take then with a bow or gun? Great job either way.

close one was 240-250, further one was around 270. I used my 308 my buddy used his muzzleloader.

my uncle and a local have been baiting 7-8 sites for over a month daily.Small amounts of bait placed at the same time daily. They had real bad bear problems all yearin the areaand it was time too cut the numbers down. Uncle had hunted for 3 days prior too calling me,, he had seen 11 bears in that time(killed a 370# on the third day). He stayed up at the cottage and bought a second tag.he was also calling a couple of his retired buddies too come up and hunt this week. Theyre hoping too kill atleast 6-8 this year in the area.

Yeah Swamp, that`s what happened to us on the weekend. A nasty thunderstorm rolled through while we were in the marsh. You kinda get this weird feeling in your stomach when you realize you`re standing there holding a 12ga. lightning rod

Claimed 5 ducks saturday morning,, lost the 6th in some heavy cover. Searched for it for about 90 minutes and couldnt find it,, a shame it was a beautiful drake woodie.

Had some clown downwind us by 100 yards at 5 minutes before legal, took him until 15 minutes after legal too set-up. We had a bunch of birds working us in this time and they kept flaring off of him. Myself and a buddy ended with 11 and 1 lost. Had a couple real nice flocks(30+) of mallards work us a couple times. got about half of 1 group too commit and we pulled 5 out of the group,, stellar shooting! everything else was singles.

skybusters were rampant![:@]why do they do that??? 80-120 yard shots do nothing but educate birds!

5 more on monday morning. Birds worked incredibly!pulled a flock of 50 down from 3-400 yards straight up, circled 7-8 times, had a dozen of them with theyre feet down at 20 yards before we threw off the safety's.Searched for a sailer for the better part of 2 hours, no dice!

surprisingly,, day 2 and not another party out!

Here is a picture of my successful bear hunt in Maine.
I shot asow without cubs (left), my buddy shot a boar (right) and the monster in the middle was taken by a guy from PA.
Out of 14 hunters we took 10 bear in 5 days.
