Our season actually lasts until Jan. 31, so I will still be trying to rack up some points for our team. Saturday I went out and only got 2 gadwalls. The weater was a warm 75-80 and the ducks just weren't around. A cold front JUST blew in, and I am predicting much better success this weekend and throughout the week of Christmas.

So am I the last hope for Team 2? I have until the end of January and should be good for at least 50-75 more ducks. I took off work next week and plan on hunting almost everyday, so I should get plenty of ducks for us.

BK has got a 2 day mini duck season dec31 and jan1,, plus some goose seasons left. Ive got until jan.4 too hunt geese,, ducks are my thing though. With the weather were having I may bowhunt a day or 2 over the holidays and try too geta doe.

My final hunt,, hunted walpole island on lake stclair. Alot of people out probably the second busiest day on that island next to the openner. It was slow in bird numbers seen(saw 15000 birds or so,, usually see 100,000 there),, bad weather really,, warm upper 40's for a high temp, light southwest winds clear and sunny. Group of 4 of us killed 21 ducks and5 geese.I personally shot my 2 goose limit, a black duck,3 greenheads and a can.
I was holding out on my last bird for a wigeon or pin,, didnt have any come close enough so my finalduck got a pass for the year. Guide was kind of shocked we werent pounding birds, we had cans, blacks and mallards in the dekes pretty regularily all day(baited reservation,, over limits are very very common there). BBQ'D a pile of venison steaks in the blind, smoked a few good cigars, killed some birds, good way too end it.

total for the year, 77 ducks and 13 geese. good year.
