Sea ducks?
#1
I saw some sea duck shooting on OLN the other night. Have any of you guys done it? It looks like some good action. The birds were pretty; Scoter, Old Squaw, Eiders(?); but...one thing never got mentioned....How do they eat?
I've got an aunt in Searsport, ME who I may visit this Christmas, and if the times right & seasons are open I may try my hand at sea ducks.
Just curious.

From what I hear they taste like doo doo...but they sure are pretty and i wouldnt be scared to make BBQs outta them!!!! It kills me every weekend lately when i make the cross-state venture to see my wife and daughter 4 hrs away at our home just off lake huron to see them playing on tawas bay. They are definitely on my wish list of critters to bag and the experience sure would be cool especially to do it in a layout setting!

JoeA, I have hunted them all Old Squaw Scooters and Eiders, If you do it deffiantly go with someone who knows how to hunt them. The best way I have hunted them is in a layout boat. Eiders are beautiful birds they are actually the biggest duck and the common is the only duck with their markings backwards the black is on the belly and the white is the top all other ducks are the opposite. Just a little trivia, but do it you wont regrete it
