A VERY sad day for a duck hunter.
I know this might not mean much to many people but it sure hurt me. I just received a call a little while ago that the hunting club I was in had just been bought by someone that was a new member. It was approx. 7000 acres and about 1500acres of that was flooded timber. It was bordered on two sides by two different rivers. I had many memorable trips their and will sure misss this place a lot. Guess I will have to start over again and find somewhere else to hunt. This place did not a ton of ducks but I was always able to go and have a good time and at least see some ducks and usually always bagged at least a few. I have to go down this weekend and get all my stuff, and my blinds, etc... Well good hunting to all and maybe to me in the future.

Something like that happened to me also but it had a happy ending. Me and three other hunting partners leased a place in 1995. We have killed many ducks on this lease. In 2000 we were told that we could no longer hunt the place. To say we were upset was an understatement. We had so many great memories hunting there. The reason the landowner gave us was that they were going to start hunting there again. The next season came and not once did they hunt. They had another lease somewhere else. I contacted him and talked with him about hunting the lease again. He said it would be okay. I am now hunting there to this day. Unfortunately one of my partners was killed in a car accident. We dedicate each duck season in his name. I'm sure one day we will be told to leave again but at least I will have many great memories for the rest of my life. Many fond memories in the duck blind.

I have never thought that hunting one place would be fun....i feel bad for you but look at the bright side, with a little work you will find new places and new sights that are more exciting than the norm....I dont believe in leases because i was (and still truly am) too poor to HAVE to pay for hunting spots....it wouldnt be as fun if i didnt have to look for new spots and add a variety to my bag!!!
