I hear you il coyote ,my little joel and clear acrylic double reed(dont know the name its worn off) do just as good as atop $ call! I also won a few DU calls at our mettings and they acually work pretty good too! Its all the caller not the call!!!

I don't intend this comment to ruffle feathers, but I hear the 'I can kill ducks with my lower $$ calls, so why buy expensive' routine a lot.

I'll buy a $125 call before any $25 plastic call. When you have the ability to use the higher end calls you will get much more versatility out of something that is hand turned and tuned. If you can't run a call that well, or just started.....there is no advantage to a high $$ call. But when you can run a call well, you'll see a HUGE difference between the injected stuff and the hand turned stuff.

I have 2 turned acrylics and one bois d'arc call that hunt with me. I have a whole drawer of low end stuff that will never see the light of day again.

I blow mainly Foiles calls. I love my SMH and my HPH!!

I know what you're saying, j. plate, and I do agree, to a point.

I've seen/heard the difference in $25-125 calls in the mouths of good callers, and yes, the higher priced call does sound a lot better, I just think that a with good setup, and guys calling the right way, a call doesn't need to be that good.
