Default Bow seasons over for me

This was my first year bowhunting. I've always rifle hunted. I bought a Mission X3 made by Matthews. Our property is rolling hills with the small canyons/ravines are oak trees. Our buck season opened July 14th, I was in Idaho for the first 3 days. "MY" opening day was the 18th and by noon I saw some bucks and a few does feeding. I made a stalk and got on four bucks 40 yards away. The were moving on a sidehill, I drew back and when a forked horn stopped broadside I let loose. What an awesome experience, I was hooked. Exactly 2 weeks later I was hunting out of a stand I put up and at 6:30 shot another forked horn from 37 yards away. I am moving to Idaho, just outside of Boise. I got a new fire job there. Inseptember I am going bear hunting again, this time with my Mission. I will try to show pictures when Ican figure out how,may need my little brother for that.

July bow season? I thought SC opening on the 15th of August was the earliest in the country! Live and learn! Congrats!

Good for you. I'm jealous, wish I could start that early. I've still gota lot of time before actual hunting

Congratulations on your first archery deer. Especially 2 bucks. That's cool.

Thanks forreplying tomy post, I sure respect everyones wisdom and thoughts on hunting. I do wish I could hunt the rut, like I said I am moving to Idaho in October. Next year It's on! On a side note, I used the two blade Gladiator mechanicals on the deer. I live in San Luis Obispo county, this is where blacktail and Mulleys become one.
