Default Shot my first mounter!

I was out duck hunting on Tuesday morning and I should have shot close to my limit but I missed some birds and got buzzed by others while not paying attention and messing with my dog (she is 4 months old and this was her first time out). Anyway, just before I left, 2 woodies came by and I shot one, a drake in full color. Man they are neat looking. I got him in my freezer now. Any suggestions on mouting positions for him?? Just though I'd let you know.

Put him standing on a piece of drift wood. I have always thought that looked cool. But there is a lot of ways to do it im sure someone on here will come up with a better way to show off your bird. By the way congrats. No matter how you mount a drake wood duck it will look awesome.

I have always liked woodies that were mounted on a small log in a marsh scene...

The marsh scene is nice. I had my woodie(first duck I shot ever) mounted flying, like he was when I shot him. Any way you do it will be nice. I think they're the best lookin' duck ever.

Congrats!! My young lab flushed one for me last October. They are pretty rare in Montana, but I got lucky. He is a mature drake and is mounted nicely, standing on wood in a water scene.

They sure are pretty.
