Default NJ Bear Protection While Bow Hunting

If I bring a couple of arrows with field blunt tips.... I would/could get busted by the warden. So instead... I purchased a little "air horn" (the kind people bring to football games).

Worse case scenario.... I will stick the bear with a broadhead tipped arrow.... hopefully not.

P.S. - I had a non-yeilding bear encounter while "crow hunting" and scouting around my tree stand a few weeks ago.

Why can't you carry a blunt tipped arrow while hunting. Aren't there any small game species that are legal, like squirrel or even woodchuck. In NH, grouse were usually open during archery after Oct 1 anyway. It wasn't illegal to carry a blunt. All states are different though.

Be careful:

N.J.S 2C:39-6i: A person who is over 18 years of age and has not been convicted of a felony may carry a pocket sized device that contains and releases not more than three quarters (3/4) of an ounce of chemicals.

In other words, the size pepper spray that you are allowed to carry in NJ is useless.

Please remember, we are by law VICTIMS in NJ.
