] What's that smell? Is that a skunk?[:@] I seriously hate that for you. Honestly I do. Just ribbing you. I took a pair of quail Thursday down here in KY over my Chessie. She is really doing her best to point these days. Too much time in the field with my buddies GSP i suppose.
Sorry to hear about the near fruitless weekend.
686- Welcome to the wonderful world of wild pheasant. Imagine how well you'd have done had some of those hens been roosters? Don't get discouraged. How about a Nebraska trip in 2005? I'm sure Gselkhunter could drive over. I need something to look forward to!

I can't smell the stench, my nose is full of dirt[:'(]! 686 and I spoke about going to ND, but they had bird die off this year[
], so who knows Roost em. But I will tell you this, if some much needed moisture doesn't happen not only will I be done for the season[:@], but the winter wheat crop may be in trouble also[
]. That will not help the Ditch Parrot reproduction next spring[:'(]. Since that is a major nesting zone. I was hoping the draught was over, I am not too sure now[
]. Snow is in the forecast for this week, we'll see. The good part, I got skinny
, we walked enough for 4 days.

I hear ya. I start monitoring weather now for prospective hunting grounds next fall. I also check in with locals from time to time in NE and MT to get the scoop on the birds. Had some conflicting info from the state and locals in 2004. The state said bad the locals said decent. We went with the locals and found birds and few out-of-state hunters due to the reports from the state.

Gselk-Been eating any of those birds? My buddy is in Nebraska as we speak. Hunting for the week with the GSP. I'm on the road in NC. May hunt Sat at my first release hunt. Now you know I'm bored. Guess i'll try it once.

Roost em, Birds are one of the meals the kids don't fuss over, as many as I can shoot they will eat
! And a trip to the Ditch Parrot farm is better than sitting at home. This is the last weekend for CO, I paid there for I shall go. I might even drift over into St. Francis, KS, my old stomping grounds. The bird numbers are bad, but I have good memories from there. And who knows, might still be a covey of quail or maybe a Ditch Parrot with my name on it, OK maybe not.

Gselkhunter-
My son will eat the birds as well, provided my wife isn't home. She fusses about not wanting any and he goes along. Both of them will eat Wild Turkey. More quail and pheasant for me. Re-thinking the pheasant farm scenario. May go quail hunt and scout out some spots for ducks, after all that is what the Chessie loves and it is time finally.
Good Luck this weekend, gonna be chilly.

Roost em, No luck needed the stomach bug hit the household, this season has been really weird. I can't seem to get out, so back to the Ditch Parrot farm and start working Leyna. ND best watch out.
