I used to hunt with a 20, but I think that I outgrew it. I like to have the sureness of the 12 ga. for knock-down power. usually #6 express long range is what i use. when it comes to late season though, i go to #2 or 4 steel, because they tend to flush up earlier for me.

What you shoot best is what you shoot best. I perfer my 16 because I hit as well with it as I do my 12 and its lighter to carry afield. I have a 20 but need to get some work done on it before I take it to the field. I was busting clays well with it during the Summer but have not gotten around to getting the forearm tightened up. I used a 28 in Montana this past October and brought down some Pheasant and a hun with it. I will lug the Ancient Ithaca 12 out for waterfowl tomorrow. Our short Thanksgiving season. Not many birds but worth going, probably poke around for quail mid morning, with the 28.
