I would have thought that you would have learned something from those so called staunch Republicans on the radio. Belling is not a Republican, he makes that very clear...He is a conservative. A so called eduacated "open minded" liberal must find it hard to dispute the fact that Republicans like Tommy Thompson purchased more public land (not to be developed) than any Govenor in the state's history including the current lobby owned Gov. we have now. Teddy Roosevelt (rep)created the National Park system and George H. Bush signed the toughest EPA laws to date.

The only reason doyle is reluctantly doing anything now is because the Feds. are finally coming down on him with potential Federal lawsuits.

Just because one hugs a tree and sends a check to earth first doesn't make them an environmentalist. I get my hands dirty and my body sweaty by actually working IN THE FIELDS AND SWAMPS with PF, DU, NWTF and WU.
It's like the Gore and Kerry driving around in there big Ford Excursions with the bumper stickers that read- "Think Green". I would love to see one of those clowns actually get there hands dirty.

Another point about the original topic of Pheasant hunting in Wisconsin- The pheasant is making a huge comeback in Wisconsin (according to DNR agents research). According to actual data- Wisconsin never had anywhere near the amount of pheasants that SD had or will have. I'm not sure I would want to give up the fantastic forest land in WI so we can have mile after mile of corn and grass fields like SD in order to comete with them for the pheasant mecca title. Would You?

Development is not simply a liberal or conservative issue. Both sides engage in development. Remember union teachers and contractors are heavily behind new schools and new (evil) corporate and residential housing. A recent survey in the Milwaukee Urinal asked why people are leaving the city in mass amounts. The number 1 and 2 answers- Extremely high taxes and violent crime. Mayors - all Democrats. Police chiefs- all democrats.

Now on the conservative side. Take Meqoun in the heart of the most conservative county in WI. The mayor (rep) has limited greatly urban sprawl by limiting the lot sizes to 5 acres. Who was crying about this...you got it ..the liberals. It was racists and biased against the poor. We can't win with the libs.

I apologize to Nate for Handles diverting your posting away fromthe excellent sport of pheasant hunting, but unknowning liberals need not be allowed to get away with spreading non-factual garbage without being rebuked. Since I can't speak directly with the mainstream media (DAN RATHER), I will do it here.
