I kinda prefer a 20ga #6 for doves (Win 1300 or a Charles Daly o/u). I've used 12 a lot for doves, but after switching to the 20, I get fewer birds that're busted up too bad.

As for shells, I've had good performance for the price with Wolf high brass dove & quail loads. Win high brass heavy game work well, but I can feel the hit in my wallet too.

First of all, I was not trying to diminish what anyone Shoots . I happy to see folks enjoying whatever they have. As far as my gun goes it something that I have worked along time for and I abolsulety believe that the Fiocchi loads perform better. If not why don't the best target shooters flock to Wal- Mart for their Federal loads. But since, the question has asked and I responded. I have quite a few facts but since you don't know me and have no idea what I know, and seeing how I don't care to justify anything to you it really doesn't matter. Since, you decided to respond with such a Kerry like childish personal attack. I won't dignify it any further. To anyone who may have felt slighted by my response "I apologize". Because the professionals reload

I'll be using my Rizinni Aurum Classic 20 ga and Fiocchi VIP loads, this year. I never shoot that Wal-mart cheap loads..
I didnt attack you I was merely defending those "CHEAP" loads, You seem so eager to demize just because they are "CHEAP".

You honestly did not have to make the statement,
"I never shoot that Wal-mart cheap loads.. "

Many people shoot those "CHEAP" loads, Infact at one time I shot them too. that is how I collected alot of my hulls that I reload. Those bulk federal shells use the same hulls as federal Hi power and Federal Top Gun. They are actually very good quality shells and you have no right to talk down on them.

i am not tring to cause a fight however HighDesertWolf you are sounding pretty jealous in your post. Stalker6 was just answering the question and saying he dosen't shoot the "cheap stuff" no reason to jump on him. and i must admite i have shot the cheap stuff and the expensive stuff and let me tell you if i bought a $20,000 i wouldn't shoot cheap stuff either. it cost more for a reason.

i have only hunted doves once and used a remington 11-87 shooting high brass 6 shot

I am not trying to sound like some big anthority on dove hunting, especially because I was the one who asked this question, but i don't have a that much of money to spend on shells. I use my 12 ga. 870 express and as far as dove hunting goes, just about all I use is the cheap stuff, Although i buy it from Gander Mountain. I don't know if walmart cheap stuff and Gander Mountain cheap stuff are the same thing. I thought that the BB's like # 6's might be to much, so I usually use 7 1/2's or sometimes 8's. I think that a guy should be able to shoot watever he wants to shoot but just because you shoot a certain thing dosen't mean that you can look down on others because they shoot something cheaper. Maybe Stalker wasn't even trying to do that, but the way it was written it seemed like he was saying that wal-mart loads were so beneath him.

Jealous HA!!! I think not, quote me where you think I sounded Jealous, PLEASE!!!
If you want to spend 20k on a shotgun thats your bag of beans Rizzinis are nice but not worth it

I'll shoot against you anyday with my mossberg 500, The gun doesn't make the shooter
only the shooter has control over how good he or she shoots. Not to brag but at the last gun club I was a member at with my Mossberg 500 I was shooting in the top 10 with a average of 97% on trap.

see you took that the way i figured. if you go back and read your first and second post you are very jealous sounding. 3rd post not as jealous but still sound that way. i am sorry if your upset about me pointing this out but that is how you came off. i for one agree that you don't need to break the bank on a gun however you told him he was wrong for doing so. you may not be jealous but you sure sounded jealous.

your second post pretty much told stalker he was stupid because he #1 brings an expensive gun into the feild. #2 because he shoots expensive ammo and the cheaper company's shells are the same.
Well maybe you just have an image to uphold and think your yuppy friends at the counrty club will laugh at you if you use a cheaper shell in your 20,000 dollar shotgun. I just wanted to point out that comment you made about "That wal mar cheap loads" makes you sound Stupid. Don't come off making dumb comments untill you know all the facts first
#3 you are almost makeing fun of him for haveing money #4 you flat out called him stupid

- come on guys there is no reason for this at all!

sorry but don't get mad i don't like when someone runs down someone because of the equpiment they use. the post simply asked everyone what they use for doves. and when someone answers the way that they should and someone else tells them it is wrong i try to stand up for the guy being put down if i can see where he is comeing from

There are two ways to make a "cheap" load, either by lower quality components or by reducing shot charge. The economy loads at the discount stores are generally on the light side. Rem. Sportsman 12 ga. is 1 oz., Win. Super Speeds are 7/8 oz. If these work for you, by all means save a buck. I personally like a 1 1/8 load. The dove and clay shells that I buy are Rem. SureShot and Estate Heavies. Right now I am buying these for $34.90/case. Just a few cents more than the lighter loads. Sure, the components are the same. The extra cost is from more shot.

On another note, how do you guys like the marketing scheme of these promo loads that don't list the shot charge in ounces but grams? Most people don't pay attention or make the conversion. I like the look on people's faces when I tell them they are shooting 7/8 oz. through their 12 ga.
