I was planning on a quail hunt within the next few weeks and was wondering what choke tube i should put in my Beretta 390, modified or imp. cyl.?? Plus, should i use 8 shot or 7.5 shot.. or does the shot depend on the tube size? As you can see i'm inexperienced and would love some help.
Thank You

I like to shoot an O/U with Cylinder in the first barrel and Imp Cylinder in the second using 7 1/2 shot.
Why two chokes? The first shot is usually pretty close, and the birds may be close to one another, allowing more chance of a "2-for-1" shot. By the time I get a second shot off, the birds are already a distance away and I will need more choke.
Not everyone will agree with this, however this is how I do it.

I use a Remmington 870 Wingmaster with a full choke barrel and use 7.5 shot, but with your two options i think either would work just fine, i'd flip a coin for the choke and go with 7.5 shot.
