Dove Decoys
#1
I bought about 16 dove decoys this year, the ones with the clips and some inflatables. My question is in your opinion, what in the most effective way to use them. I have heard they work well in dead trees and/or cut crop fields. I'll be hunting around alf-alfa fields, soy beans, and corn fields. Thanks

I have seen guys take a small dead tree and tie it up with ropes in 3 directions .
I have 2 10' peices of 3/4 pvc conduit with a 20' rope between them with 2 15' tie down ropes at each end
take it out to where you wand to hunt lay 1 conduit down strech out the 20' rope to the 2 conduit ,atach the decoys to the rope ,drive in a stake for the 2 tie down ropes 5' apart atach tie ropes and stand that conduit up ( helps to have help) stand up the other conduit to pull the 20' rope with decoys up and stake down the tie ropes
this gives you a 10' high 20'or 30' closeline with decoys on it . Doves will land with the decoys if you are not watching .GOOD HUNTING

I've killed lots and lots of dove but never bothered with decoys. I never saw the point. I recommend hunting over food plots such as sunflower, milo, and corn thats about all you need to kill dove sucessfully
