I think it all depends on the type of gun you use? I use a semi-auto with three rounds, starting with a 6, 4mag and 4mag. I'm doing some late season hunting in PA, so I'll need something quick and knockdown power! Where are you hunting? Good luck with the wild birds!!!

For wild birds, I'd start out with a couple of #6s followed by a #5 through a modified choke.
For preserve birds, I'd go with a #7.5 followed by two #6s through an IC choke.
All of these would be with the 12ga. Please leave the .410 at home.
