Default Turkey season blues.

Its hard to believe but our 3 week season is already over, its got to be the fastest 3 weeks of the year. Kind of a strange season for me this year, some really cool temps with frost on some of the mornings, seemed like they where still henned up or something even this last week, They gobbled and responded better for me the last 2 days than they did all season, I tagged a pretty good on the 1st morning of season and thats it, I went for several days and did'nt even get to work a bird, On most morning it was over about 20 minutes after it started, they gobbled a little on the roost and that was it. Well anyway we have another spring season behind us, now its time for the post turkey season blues to set in. I guess we should just remember the beauty of the springtime sunrise and joy of hearing one of God's great creatures sound off, cause to me there is nothing quite like the springtime gobble. May we all live to hunt the grandest bird of all again.

Congratulations on the one you got.

The one I almost got was shot by another hunter.[:@][:@][:@][:@]

I will have to go to another spot next time,
Hopefully on private land.

Any way congratulations.

I've got a "Jones". This stuff is worse than the drugs I did as a teenager!! I got off the drugs but I'm unable to get off the high of that Gobble sound.

Cleaning and storing my hunting gear and shotgun nearly put tears in my eyes.

Withdrawls....that's what it is.

Well I made it thru the first day without any turkey hunting, And the thing is here in Mo. I think this upcoming week will be the best gobbling week we have had, I know the last 2 days of season they gobbled better and responded better to your calls than they did the whole season for me.
