Default Gun cleaning question?!?!

I was just wondering when cleaning a gun that has a camo finish, in this case a mossberg 835, how do you go about cleaning the barrel and other metal. I cleaned the inside of the barrel and gun but dont know if I should oil the outside down like you would a regular gun or not. Or does the camo provide a protective layer for the metal? Any help is appreciatted.

Yes do use oil on the outside.
First is it painted, Dipped, or Parkerized? There are some cleaners that you can not use on a Parkerized finish.

Just use a damp wash rag and then dry good. Then use a gun wipe or gun oil

You are fine then. Yes use a gun wipe or gun oil. You will not hurt it
