Early bird
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
gets the nitro!! I have hunted this gobbler for four weekends. He has always been surrounded by hens. One morning he had 7 hens flying up to him while I watched him gobble on the roost until 9 AM. He had hens around him Fri. the 29th of April. After competing with the boss hen @ 5:45 AM, I gave him a few extra clucks and purrs. He gobbled about 30 times on roost. He flew down to me @ 30 steps. Time was 6 AM. 21.5 lbs., one spur 1 3/16, one spur 1 1/8, one beard 11 inches, one beard 7 inches. He was a great hunt and I was proud to have battled with him. My first double beard. His primary feathers were quite worn, definately a dominate bird.
