Default Early Season deer calls and/or scents (Early Oct.)

Hi what kind fo scents and calls do you like to us in the early season? I was thinking about using a fawn distress call along with my fawn decoy, or my young buck decoy, young buck scent, soft grunter and occasional sparring of young bucks, or just some non estrous doe scent. What do you like to use?

goosegetter I stick almost exclusively with a doe bleat and only blind call about once every 20-30 minutes. I will use a buck grunt if I see a boss buck, otherwise I stick with a doe bleat because a buck grunt will run off a less dominant buck even if he is a shooter, a buck is no different than a teenage boy, he would much rather have a girl friend than get pounded into the ground by a dominant buck. Another thing to remember is the second a buck is heading in your direction, STOP calling and be patient!

I usually dont use anything but scent control. In the early seaon its easier to pattern the deer, so I let them act natural. Plus I don't want to let the deer know they're being hunted.
