Default Hunter Orange

Well I guess I'm going to have to go onto public lands. It's so hard to find a place to hunt. The place I'm going I think usally gets a lot of pressure. So that got me wondering, should I wear any hunter orange? Of course I would only wear it when I'm walking around.

If you are concerned about safety, have a light blaze vest you can wear and stash when you sit. I've hunted public land alot and never felt the need for blaze orange. I think most who get shot are already sitting and are shot when they make a movement by guys walking around. If you see someone coming, talk to them, so they know where you are. Sit against a tree bigger than you are, so someone can't see you til you see them.

I had a hunter walk up on me yesterday, and when I saw his blaze orange hat, I was able to call out to him to let him know I was there.

I usually put some orange on when im moving, especially when moving decoys that aren't stuffed in my vest.

I would never use a tom or jake decoy in heavely hunted areas and use a bag to cover any decoy completly when moving.
IMO gobble calls are a bad idea also.

As you allready know never try and stalk another "Turkey " it may or may not have feathers.

A hat or vest may be a good idea .

After I bag my bird I don a blaze hat and put it in a blaze bag to leave the woods.
