Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default Merriams vs. Rios ???

I'm curious to know how different it is hunting the Merriams as opposed to the Rio (other than the altitude!!) I've heard that you need to keep calling to a Merriams so he doesn't lose interest. I need some advice on things like that on hunting Merriams from some of you guys who have hunted both.

I have never hunted Rios but have hunted Merries many times-I believe compared to other turkeys Merries are and need a lot of attention on the calling side. Have a great hunt.

Merriams walk a lot more and have large ranges. Rios roost the same areas and are more predictable. They both are more vocal than easterns. Merriams gobble a lot in the tree in the evening (my experience).

I have to agree with Hal on this one. The only difference I see in hunting these different type Speices are the Calls that one may use, as too volume...BT
