Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Well they take alot of practice, i have an old timer who makes them, and he can make a turkey call from a turtle shell also. They work your cheek muscles pretty good, cuz you suck in instead of blow out. The ones i have are homemade, no brand.

As the name might imply, I use them regularly. They are extremely effective. To learn to do it does take a lot of practice. But once you get the technique, they're easy to use. I make 'em myself. I've got all my turkey hunting relatives, neighbors and their kids using them. They also make a very effective striker for a slate or pot call. It gives you two calls in one. Stay away from ones made from gobbler wings. In my opinion, for the most part, they are pitched too low . I make mine out of jake or hen wings. They have a very nice tone.

I also make them and Wingbone was spot on.

Hopefully later this year I'll be back on and post how I do them. I have several I owe to people on this forum and they are being worked on. I have over 150 to make this year and this is just a hobby. hehe

They are a very effective tool. I never leave home with out 'em! Also have made a few out of Canada goose wings too!

In a pinch I have also used a ball point pen bottom as a wingbone call and you can use a soda straw.

I carry a home-made on in my vest, and use it some.
