Hey LaHunter, I do not hunt turkey in LaPlace. I am going to hunt in Livinston parish where my son lives. Lots of turkey out there. But for my regular hunting, which is squirrel, rabbitt, sometimes duck, I hunt in the Maruepas swamp WMA, and also Manchac and the Joyce area. I am allowed to hunt also off 61 on private land cause I know these people. It goes from 61 back to the lake. Next year I am going to hunt deer and hog also, cause I did not know you needed a big game license to hunt turkey. This is my first ever turkey hunt. I am also waiting for this weather to let up and warm up, my Puttputt pirogue (inboard motorized) is ready to go crawfishing. It has been cold but they say it is warming up for this weekend. About my Mossberg, if I shoot for 3 oclock position, it is a dead turkey. I am going to try left hand and see what happens. Most probably get a sore shoulder from it. It does have a mean mean recoil.

Try some tru-glo sites that you can put on so it will shoot straight.
