Hope all goes well in your recovery.
Surprisingly, it seems, a lot of fellows on this Forum know what it is like to get shot. Me, too, and I still have pellets in my shoulder.
I was wearing plastic lensed (polycarbonate??) glasses when I got shot, and those lenses clearly saved my vision, as both lenses took pellets, one pellet was directly centered on my right pupil, and a couple of pellets struck lower on the left lens. If not for the glasses, there'd be no telling if I could still see. It was an "accident", but it still hurt. I guess you probably wonder about what your buddy was thinking, and I bet he does, too. I don't believe the man who shot me has ever held a shotgun since, as he felt worse than I did about it.
Hope you make it back to the woods next spring!!

Glad to hear you're still kicking. Hope the surgery goes well for you.
The scariest thing about hunting in Florida isnt the snakes and the gators.
Its the other hunters.
Get well and I hope to see you down in Florida next season. I'll give you the full guided hunt this time around. (And I promise not to shoot you.)
