Default Third surgery the charm!!!!

Well the big day is wensday !!!! This will be the third operation on my left eye in the last 2 months!!! This operation is going to put my retna back in place!!! I have not been able to see out of this eye since the hunting accident on may 4!!! It is going to be at least 4 months after this next surgery before i can get the 100 or so pellets removed from my head!! Every time i see a new specialist they all say how lucky i am to be alive!!! Once i get the exray from them i will download them so all of you can see what 100 pellets look like!! It has been a long two months and alot of heavy narcotics!! I am going to see a pain specailist after this next surgery to see about different types of meds to help with the pain !!! It sure will be nice to be able to go back to work !!! This sittin around all doped up is no fun!!
I am glad to see alll the gobblers taken in the contest this year !! I did manage to take a 20 pounder on april 2 in a swamp bottom in Greenwood Mississippi !!! Man I love this sport !!! Even if i never see out of my left eye again i willbe right back at it next year!! Thanks for all your prayers and support!!
For those who had not heard the story I was out with my buddy and we had a gobbler on the roost we moved in and i set my buddy up with in a 120 yards of the bird i backed out behind him another thirty yards and set up the decoys hit my slate call 2 clucks and a soft tree yelp then half a minute later my buddy turned around and shot what he thought was a turkey !!! I never heard the shot !!! the only thing i heard was what sounded like a aluminum baseball bat hitting me in the side of the head!!! I was able to hike a mile out of the swamp bottom some times through waist deep water!!! I had to be air lifted to the hospital!!!
I have been hunting for 34 years and have never been around an accident or even had any of my huntin buudies get in one!! Still not to sure why this happen to me !!! But the good lord must need me around for a greater reason than i can understand right now !! So please tell all your huntin buddies and your children this story!! So they will understand that no matter how many years we hunt this is a sport that must always put safety first!!
Thanks again for your prayers and support

Man, memphis....so very sorry to hear of your "incident," but I'm thrilled that you made it out alive, and that you are still eager to hunt again. I wish for you a speedy recovery!! I sure hope you get your vision back, too!

My good friend's cousin in MO wasn't as lucky...he was killed by a man who shot him from the same distance full in the chest. What do we need to do to get people to think rationally BEFORE they pull the trigger? It never ceases to amaze me how such a thing could EVER happen!?!
