Seems Tree Climber has had problems with the 835. Mossberg did have some quality problems with the 835 a while back but they seem to be fine now. I have one of the first ones they put out and have never had a problem with it. I also have a newer one that my wife got me a couple of seasons ago and it's been fine too. I don't think you'll be disappointed with the 835. I've shot some awsome patterns with mine and they've taken a bunch of gobblers in the last several years.

Well, I have both the 835 & the super 870 Mag. There both great guns but the 835 with its porting reducess alot of the felt recoil, I noticed when using 3 1/2" shells.... Also i have jammed once or twice with the Rem. but Rem Oil seemed to solve that problem... Hope this helps!
