Anybody go to the national convention in Columbus, OH this weekend? They showed so video highlights as ESPNEWS went off the air but with no audio and didn't really mention it. Who won the contests?

The convention was a great time. Met some great people from the online turkey community. Had a good dinner with Adrian and Bosshen. Got to look at some seriously phenominal turkey call craftsmanship, heard some great callers do their thing. The weekend went way too fast.

I stopped by on Friday afternoon and thought the convention was very good. I saw some incredible craftmanship, attending a couple of good seminars, and bought a new choke and some Nitro Heavi Shot and saved the shipping cost. The only think a little disconcerning is that when you see 30,000 people attend an event like that you realize how big (i.e., crowded) our sport is becoming. I constantly talk up turkey hunting to anyone who will listen and I will take at least two new people out this year so I am definetly a contributor but I wonder if the day will come when the woods get so crowded that it looses its appeal for me.

I went up Sat. morning. It was cool. Not as big as the Deer and Turkey Expo but it was pretty cool. I got a hat and talked with Mike Beatty for a bit. That was cool. Michael Wadell was there but he was doin a thing upstairs so I didnt get to talk to him or get him to sign my hat
Oh well, maybe next time
