I've got some Midland GS-22 (I think) 5 Mile range with the vibrate/beep page- I love em
If you get any no matter what type make sure they have the vibrate paging capability- It enables you to turn the unit all the way down but still get paged by your partner and you dont have to worry squelch going off with the volume down.

Garmin Rino is a great combo. It has the GPS and the radio in one unit. I got one for christmas and I love it. I would recommend it just for the radio. I get really god reception even in rough places. Good luck. BB

Kyle, the range varies depending on what terrian and the conditions are- In West texas i would say we were using them in every bit of 5 miles, but here at home the canopy in the woods are much thicker and we probably average a couple of miles while actually being in the woods-

I bought a pair of Cobra 2-watt with a " 7 mile range"- bologny!!
one cotton pickin mile is all I could get out of it. and that wadn't even
in the woods.

I've heard they made a 4 and 5 watt. does anybody know how far they will reach in flat country? if I could just get 2 1/2 to 3 miles through the woods, I'd be happy.
