i'm just getting into turkey hunting this year and this spring in n.c. i plan on going . i have a 12 ga. bps with a 28" barrel (walnut stock). is it that important to have a 24" barrel? i plan on getting a synthetic super x2 or a gold hunter with a 26" barrel by the end of the year.thanks for any feedback! ncwannabeduckhunter 'aka' wannabeturkeyhunter

Don't worry about the barrel length. Barrel length may be important when it comes to issues of weight & balance. I have a 28" barrel on my "feather duster" and have no plans to change. A 30"+ barrel might be cause for reconsideration, but thee's a ton of other things to consider & master before worrkying about the differenes between a 24" or 28" barrel.

Yeah dont worry about the barrel length all that much....and it's just like jalvja said, If the gun patterns well and fits you, thats all you need. Good luck this spring and if you have any other questions, feel free to email me.
