Default Sceery decoys

Does anyone have any experiance with these decoys? How do they blow up? Do you use your mouth or do they self inflate? Are they very life like? Any info would be appreciated.

You have to blow them up. I dont like them. They are really small and I dont think they look all that great. If you want an inflatable....check out Lynch's inflatable decoys. I have the Jake and I think they are some of the best looking dekes I have seen. They are nice and big too.

I agree with jepcho the sceery dekes are too small and don't look all that great it takes forever for me to blow them up. if i were to use them and heard a bird gobble near by i would not have near enough time to blow them up and get ready.

I'd have to disagree w/ the others. A buddy of mine brought them along last year and they work pretty well. They are a tad smaller like mentioned, but they are extremely realistic looking. You have to blow them up, but we keep them partially blown up so it cuts down on the time it takes. Of course, if you've got a tom coming in fast, forget about having time to blow them up, but if you're using them 1st thing in the a.m. or already have them blown up, they're great. The others we use are Feather Flex and don't look anywhere as good as the Sceerys.

I agree with coolbrze0. I have used them for several years and have never had any problems with them. They don't take all that long to blow up and if a bird is coming that fast you wont need them anyway. They are a little smaller and as far as looks I like the first version of these decoys better. The newest version hens are very dark (more like a gobbler) instead of brown. My favorite thing about them is that they don't take as much space as Feather-Flex and they don't have that "I'm looking at my own rear" thing Feather Flex decoys do after being rolled up.

They take 8 breaths, I've counted.

I blow my Sceery up in three breaths! Either cut the valve out or squeeze the valve at the base of the stem, otherwise it will take 8 breaths.

I love mine, the second generation looks much better then the first. The sceery's fit my hunting style and vest perfectly.

8 ex-smoker's or 3 healthy young buck breaths aside, the reality is that they don't take all that much time to inflate. I like 'em 'cause they're compact and lightweight. I also think their smaller size is quite lifelike. Finally, the anti-spin stake gives a good sense of motion in any breeze without becoming a spinner. I usually put the Sceerys out in stuff like plowed fields, short grass or bare spots, roads, etc., when I don't want a big decoy to scare the toms. (I like to think of my Sceery decoys as not too scary!)

I don't use them exclusively, however. I also have a Delta hot hen, a Passive Jake, and some Carrylite or Flambeau decoys, I forget which. The latter are big, heavy, cumbersome, and get goofy-looking when you unfold 'em, but I still use them from time to time.

Have any of you used the breeding hen action stake??
