Tape for learning calls
#1
Does anyone know of a good audio tape for teaching the different calls.
I would like to find a good cassette to listen to while driving around. That way I can practice in the car and not drive the wife nuts.

Well, in my opion, you won't find a better set of tapes then these....

Recordings of wild turkeys in the woods. Knight & Hale also make a great recording but I think it's only on C.D. You can check them out along with the Lovett Williams tapes/C.D.'s at http://www.huntsmart.com Click on Turkey then on C.D.'s & Tapes if they still have it set up the same way.
Good Luck.

Check this site out, they have some things that might help, you can click on certain calls and hear what they are suppose to sound like, I think they also offer a tape or CD of some kind.

I usually just listen to my grandpa's turkeys, but I did get something like turkeys jubilee from knight and hale. I think it was called turkeys jubilee, but I am not sure. It has recordings of live turkeys in the woods calling back and forth to eachother. It covers kee kees and all other noises in the turkeys vocabulary.
I will post it when I look at the CD. Good luck.

I have both the Spittin' Feathers and the Lovett Williams tapes, plus a video "Mouth Calling 101" from Lohman, I think. There is also a CD I got when I purchased a turkey hunting videotape that described how to use locator calls, etc, but I can't remember the name of it, only know the CD is not a circular CD, as it was cut to fit the back side of the videotape box, and it still plays, though not in my truck's CD player.
I would recommend the Spittin' Feathers tape, too, though I think there could be improvement in the currently available instructional tapes.
