You learn quickly that you need both. I try calling them in, but if it doesnt work i ditch the decs, and just grab a call and my gun and go. Couple seasons ago i got my bird by racing it around a mountain. It went over the top and i took the path, got to where i was hoping to be able to ambush it and it was standing right in the middle of a clearing, it turned to run, so i took it. Ive also spent hours working a weary bird in using a call.

The two person blind that we have is the Primos Groundmax and it is light and can be folded up and put away in two minutes by one guy. It's perfect, althoug still take a vest so that you can just stick yourself next to a tree on the Run 'n' gun part

I do both. I first try to locate a bird and once I do, if not successful the first day, I may hunt that bird for several days in a row. I had a bird a couple years ago that I'd been hunting for 3 days straight and he would go away from me every morning with his hens. I got set with the dekes and he started his routine. I got up and moved to the area where I thought he'd flown down to and gave a few yelps....he cut me off. I got my gun up and gave a couple leaf scratches......10 minutes later, I was giving him a piggyback ride.

pre-work = Get close to roost and intercept

weekend = get at comfortable chair and enjoy the morning as it unfolds!

Oh yea... and everything in between. It all depends upon the situation!

Well last year was my first year and I tagged out on the second day.
I know that is not the norm but I set up with a Jake/Hen combo on both birds and that seemed to make those two Toms really crazy.
So I am sticking with the same set up this year to start.
If it happens again I am convinced!
LOL
I love Turkey Hunting lol

Definately both! It is pretty hard to consistantly kill birds if you aren't willing to change strategies once in a while.
