managed to tag a tom after 21 days of chaos and heartbreak! If it could go wrong this year, it did for me! coyotes attacking birds, a benelli SBE that only went "click", brain damaged birds that never gobble, you name it got lucky this morning and got a double -bearded tom (my 1st ever) !

VERY light 17lbs, 3/4 spurs 10 inch beard and 4 inch beard. upon cleaning the bird, there were no exterior marks but the meat and skin was black and nasty. he had some kind of MAJOR infection that i think accounts for his light wieght..

here he is, i am still happy to have taken him!

I hunt down in Otsego County and it was a real weird year for us too. Birds have been totally uncooperative around us. That's too bad about the meat but congratulations on sticking with it and finally getting one
