Default finally

after messing up 4 times and watching birds I was hunting get blasted by other hunters, and letting jakes walk twice. I was starting to think I had used up all my chances. Then one afternoon about 4:30 I was headed into town and while passing through some Gov. land on the way (heavily hunted) I saw some turkeys right on the side of the highway. Two hens and a longbeard. I thought ,man, I need to go back and get them back into the woods before everybody and there brother see them. As I passed by very slow, trying to run them back without really spooking them I saw two strutting toms about 15 yds back. The ones on the road started walking back into the woods and the two strutting toms just turned slowly and followed, never comming out of strut. I hunted them a couple of times but not much gobbling because of bad weather. Today they gobbled there heads off but wouldn' t come up to an old logging road, probably where everybody else has been calling from.I backed off and circled around behind them and had them comming in short notice. One came to about 20yds. I could see the other fans comming and wanted to wait on them thinking they were probably bigger because the first one wasn' t strutting. He had allready saw me and was really checking me out. I was starting to shake pretty bad and breathing hard. I may have waited longer if I had already took a bird, but I said, shoot, I' m gonna kill me a turkey. Score 59.75 for team 5. The other two are still around!!!

Your situation reminds me of that old saying? " A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush!"

Congratulations!
