I have the same gun but i bought mine the year before they came out with the adjustable buttstock and its a deadly gun with federal HV 3" #4. Do you know the choke tube they put in those because its awsome whatever it is. I killed a tom 40 yards off and it didn't flop it just dropped dead.

The choke tube is the remington's own super full turkey choke. I have used one in my other 870 for years and have never had a problem with it. I have shot birds between 40-45 yds and they have never move until I picked them up.
