Gobbling?
I am in my second year of turkey hunting here in West Tennessee. I own 100 acres of property that was full of turkeys last year. Every day I went I heard at least three to four different birds gobble. While scouting this year and while deer hunting I saw a lot of birds, lots of Toms. Opening day here was March 29. The first three days I have hunted I have not heard a gobble or seen a bird. Can any of you experienced guys tell me what happened? I am starting to wonder if the birds left or something!

RE: Gobbling?
Sometimes in the later parts of the season the gobblers will broaden their search for hens. If there is good habitat (food, strutting areas, roosting areas) on your property they will probally return at some point. The birds do the same thing on the property I hunt. They move south opening day and tend to migrate back about 2 weeks after the season opener. [8D]
