first yeat turkey hunter, went out yesterday.patterned in a hunting postion with a 10-15 mph wind.rem 870 super mag with rem 1 3/4 oz #6 3 1/2 inch hevi shot.and winchester double x 2 1/4 oz 3 1/2 inch.20 yards was a gimme, both loads tore it up.30 yards the hevi performed 3 times as well with about 90 shots in the head and neck.at 40 yards the rem put about 25 and winchester about 18 in the kill zone.everything i read says you you need 5 pellets in the kill zone for a kill.can i feel confident with these results?by the way,i used a ventilator choke. my visa is taking a beating, the kids think im crazy, and my wife says shes gonna call a attorney if she hears another turkey call. i have hunted and fished all my life but im getting goofy over this new endeavor, cant explain it.any suggestions, thanx all.

Sounds like you have two set ups that are more than adequate to do the job. Been there and done that with the calls too. Last year in the Spring I even woke my wife up (she was sleeping on our second floor and I was in the basement) and she even sent one of the kids down to see what was making he noise (the little guy was pretty smart as he told her it was dad with his calls before he even came down).
