Just curious to see what kind of loads youMossberg 500 ownersare using? Also what kind of choke? The reason i'm asking is that i'm trying to get my gun to shoot flater. And i'm not sure if it's the load i'm using?the choke? maybe something else? Thanks for any help.

I did alot of research and brought the Indian Creek Turkey Choke, other choke tubes are excellen as well. But I just found for me the Indian Creek and HeviShot 13 #6 would be pefect for my Mossberg 835

For my Mdl 500 20ga also use two chokes but three loads..........
For Lead: Swarm™ .555" choke with either Winchester® Supreme™ 1 5/16oz #5 shot & Federal® MagShok™ 1 5/16oz #6 shot.
For heavier than lead: Hastings® .570" Extended Turkey Choke with 1¼oz #6 Hevi•Shot™ (Hevi13™).

For my 20 ga super bantam 500, I'm shooting Fed #6's and Rem. copper #6's out of an H.S. Undertaker choke. The Feds shoot a little bit better...and put a wallop on a gobbler

Downed many birds with my Mossberg 500, my kids have downed a few with it as well. Factory xx-full choke, and Nitro 301A 4x5x7 1/2 shot. At 35 yds it gets 30 plus pellets in the head & neck area alone. I dropped a tom at 42yds with it last spring. No other ammo has compared.

I shoot 3" Win. #5, the silver box stuff, out of my 12 Ga. 500. Never shot anything else as it patterns well. I use a standard full choke. Shot a bird at almost 40 yds. this year, and it rolled him just fine. The shot ended up being a little further than I thought, but he never knew the differnce.

My 8 and 9 year old boys will be using a pair of Mossburg 500's Super Bantamsnext Spring to turkey hunt with and you can bet that both of these guns will be equipped with Black Diamond Strike chokes and shooting Hevi-13 #6's. I've tested dozens of loads and chokes and thus far.... NOTHING elsecan even come close, not in our Beneilli SBE II, T/C Encore Pro Hunter orBrowning Gold. It's just an amazing combo!
