Default gobblers, rainy days, and fields?

A lot of people told me that when its rainy the gobblers go to fields? Is this right?

Not in SW PA. They quit responding to calls except clucks that is in the woods. They also hide in thick coverage I'm guessing to stay somewhat dry. Ask me how I know...

For sure, if its rainy and crappy i always hit the truck and cruise for the big strutter out in the field, always seem to have good luck with this!

Although I've heard this advice dozens of times over, I've never had it work out for me. My turkeys must not read the books.
