Only hunting till noon?

That's right. The hens are usually out on their nests in the afternoon, laying eggs. They return to roost near the toms again in the evening. The idea is to reduce disturbing the hens. WI started out that way, but apparently the nest disturbance wasn't really an issue. Because now we can hunt til sundown and we still have plenty of turkeys.

After being in the woods before daylight ive had enough by noon.Ive heard that P.A was going to do away with being out of the woods by noon the last 2 weeks of the season next year.Just a rumor.

I think I would rather us be able to hunt til' noon if it meant being able to hunt on Sundays..........sure makes for a heck of a short weekend when you have to travel for turkeys here in PA to only get to hunt ONE day and only til NOON on that one day.

if i hunted ALL DAY i'd be even moe beat up, pummelled, and run-ragged than i am now. Some times i wish you could only hunt till 9!
Plus, it gives the birds a break, in a way.
