We went out this morning in Northwestern NJ, at first light we heard a few gobblers. We made our way towards them and we then set up. We did some calling without a reply, about 10 minutes later here comes a decent bird 7" beard, big white head, he never made a sound, nor did he see us. He was 80 yards out, he looked around and walked off. After awhile we went to a differnt area, I drove past a green field, nothing was in there, so I went to the deli for a quick coffee, as we drove past the field there is a hen with nice gobbler, and one big gobbler. So we parked about 1/4 mile away and made our way towards them thru the woods, we felt we where near them, we did some calling, and no replies at all. So we thought they may of went behind a house, so it was one hour before legal hunting was over. As I neared the corner of the field I see a huge fan, 70 yards away. We did some calling, he was with the hen, the other gobbler was no where to be found. They where heading towards us, but we needed to be in the woods for safety reasons, there was a road with cars on it, didn't want to take a chance and get someone hurt. We then got set up in the woods, but we lost sight of the birds.....Next week

I gotta buddy that hunts up there sometimes (zones 1 and 2) and he says that there's birds everywhere up there. He also says that unfortunately, you have to wade through the bears in order to get to the turkeys!
